About

The Inter Faith Week for Schools initiative exists to support schools, with clear, high quality resources and ideas to celebrate the diversity of their school community during Inter Faith Week. In 2025, we reached more students than ever before...

This website is designed, with expert RE partners, to help you celebrate IFW in your school. Whether you're an experienced teacher of RE, a teacher with another specialism, or you want to mark IFW in another subject: we have resources, events, and competitions for you.

Why celebrate IFW with your young people?

Inter Faith Week offers a valuable opportunity to create a school culture where every pupil feels seen, respected and valued. Exploring different faiths, beliefs and worldviews encourages curiosity, empathy and meaningful dialogue, helping young people appreciate both the richness of diversity and the values we share.

Taking part supports pupils’ social and emotional development, building confidence, respect and the skills needed to live well in a diverse society. It gives pupils space to reflect on their own identity while appreciating the experiences and perspectives of others, strengthening their sense of belonging and shared humanity.

Inter Faith Week can also strengthen your school’s values and ethos, bringing communities together through learning, creativity and collaboration. Through assemblies, classroom activities, poetry, discussion and local partnerships, schools can promote inclusion, kindness and mutual understanding while enriching Religious Education and wider personal development.

How can we help?

  • Offering a curated selection of resources, relevant to the theme, so you can celebrate Inter Faith Week in your classroom

  • Running webinars for education professionals, and those passionate about the role of education in social cohesion

  • Sharing stories and images of your work after the week

  • Back for its second year, our Inter Faith Week Poetry Competition enables stuendts to reflect deeply on the significance of the theme to their lives and worldviews.
